Nepal, a sovereign nation, spans 147,181 sq. km, making up just 0.3% of Asia’s landmass. Nestled between India to the east, west, and south, and Tibet (China) to the north, this landlocked country boasts remarkable natural and cultural diversity. Its terrain ranges from 60 meters to the towering 8,848.86 meters of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.

Mount Everest, known as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Chhomolongma in Sherpa/Tibetan, has been a magnet for adventurers since the early 19th century. Nepal’s opening to foreign visitors in the 1950s spurred a surge in tourism, with the Everest region becoming a prime destination for exploration and adventure. Designated a national park in 1976 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, the area is now a global hotspot for trekkers.

The journey to Everest Base Camp begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Himalayas. Trekkers traverse vibrant landscapes, visit ancient monasteries like Tengboche, and stand in awe at Kalapathar and Everest Base Camp, surrounded by the world’s most iconic peaks. More than an adventure, this trek is a soul-stirring experience, connecting travelers to the heart of the Himalayas and the warmth of Sherpa culture. For those seeking wonder and inspiration, Nepal’s Everest region is a dream realized.

Trip Highlights

  • Sherpa Culture: Immerse in Buddhist traditions, prayer flags, and monasteries.
  • Namche Bazaar: Vibrant Sherpa town and acclimatization hub.
  • Tengboche Monastery: Spiritual center with breathtaking Himalayan vistas.
  • Everest Base Camp: Stand at the foot of the world’s highest peak.
